Glossary

Digital worker

One term from the glossary, defined on its own page: what it means to anyone who meets it, and how we use it.

In short

A digital worker is software framed as a member of staff: it holds a named role, owns a piece of work end to end, and is measured on what it produces the way a colleague is. It is the industry's general term for what we call an AI employee.

In practice

What it means for a business.

We keep our own name for it because a digital worker you run yourself is a different proposition from one we build, train, and manage for you.

Weigh a digital worker against a salaried hire, or see every term defined once.
