No-show / DNA rate
One term from the glossary, defined on its own page: what it means to anyone who meets it, and how we use it.
In short
A no-show, logged in UK healthcare as a did-not-attend or DNA, is a booked appointment the client misses without cancelling, and the no-show rate is the share of booked appointments lost that way. Cancellations are counted separately, because a slot handed back in time can still be filled.
In practice
What it means for a business.
An empty slot is revenue that cannot be recovered later, which is why confirmations, well-timed reminders, and one-tap rescheduling matter more than penalties.
